"Originária"
Originária is not about where something began, but about what continues to give life. It is the source that never runs dry, like water feeding a river from start to end. The Earth is originária because all life comes from it. A mother is originária because the act of bringing life into the world is timeless. Originária speaks of what is always present, quietly sustaining life, creation, and meaning.
What Originária is
Originária is Aussie Coffee’s social responsibility platform—a not-for-profit social innovation initiative that identifies and strengthens grassroots social, environmental, and cultural projects in Brazil.
It operates as a practical incubator and think tank, providing free consulting and long-term support when promising ideas lack the structure, capital, and operational stability to move forward. It also functions as a support network for vulnerable individuals and groups.

Originária is designed as a shared vehicle—able to grow beyond any one individual—so that its structure, governance, and mission can endure, scale, and be used by others over time.

Why Originária exists
Originária helps promising ideas get off the ground—and then survive their earliest stage. In Brazil, young people with vision and purpose often face heavy bureaucracy, financial pressure, and complex administration simply to do things the right way.

Originária provides practical consultation and hands-on guidance—supporting testing, structure, risk management, and operational maturity—so initiatives can launch responsibly, become stable, and be ready to grow.
Staying relevant
Originária is intentionally designed to be dynamic and responsive. It can rapidly onboard new ideas, partnerships, and opportunities as they emerge, directing resources to where they can generate the greatest impact in real time. This agility supports a strong focus on effectiveness and efficiency—maximising social return and meaningful outcomes per resource invested.

Originária also serves as a springboard for the entrepreneurial ideas of its founder, Daniel. Guided by the belief that entrepreneurship can and should be used to do good, the platform enables projects that combine commercial thinking with social purpose—demonstrating that organisational viability and positive impact are mutually reinforcing.

Impact over scale
Impact, rather than scale, is the primary criterion for action. Originária does not apply rigid thresholds for what qualifies as a programme or project. Support can range from structured initiatives to discreet, localised assistance—practical, fiscal, or professional—when a timely intervention can restore stability and continuity for an individual, family, or community.

At its core, Originária is about creating opportunity: offering young Brazilians a practical entry point into business, governance, and execution, while contributing meaningfully to the communities in which they live and work.
How We Create Impact
Originária works with people, projects, and partners at different stages, adapting its role to what is needed to turn intention into action.
Supported Projects (Talent Accelerator)
Originária supports externally initiated projects by offering guidance, consultation, and, where necessary, targeted financial support to help ideas get off the ground.

Support is focused on helping individuals or small teams move from intention to action—clarifying the idea, addressing practical obstacles, and providing the minimum structure or resources needed to initiate the project responsibly.
Depending on the context, this support may include advisory input, operational guidance, or limited financial aid to unlock progress. There may or may not be any expectation of financial return, depending on the nature and objectives of the project.

Flagship Projects

Originária initiates and develops its own flagship projects, and may also co‑administer supported projects that evolve into flagship initiatives over time.
In these cases, Originária plays a deeper role in shaping strategy, governance, and delivery.

For flagship initiatives, Originária may conceive the original idea or enter into shared administration once a project reaches sufficient scale or complexity.
It may retain ongoing board participation or governance involvement to ensure mission alignment, continuity, and long-term stability.

Funding and Growth Support

Originária supports projects to access funding and grow responsibly. This includes coaching and accountability around grants and incentives—such as Australian Government programs (for example, COALA), Brazilian public funding, and cultural incentive mechanisms like Lei Rouanet—helping teams stay organised, motivated, and compliant as they secure and manage resources.

Individual Stabilisation Support

Alongside project-based work, Originária supports individuals who are already demonstrating strength, capacity, and future potential, but whose lives have been disrupted by serious personal setbacks.
This support is focused on people who have invested in themselves—through education, work, and personal development—but have been pushed into financial or emotional precarity by experiences such as violence, coercion, or sustained interference from others.

Originária’s role is to help remove the immediate obstacles that prevent recovery and forward momentum. Support is practical, targeted, and discreet, aimed at restoring continuity rather than creating dependency.

Assistance may include short-term financial relief, access to essential tools for work or study, help resolving urgent debts, access to qualified therapists or psychiatrists, or trusted referrals that support safety, independence, and long-term stability. Decisions are made case by case, prioritising dignity, safety, confidentiality, and the individual’s own agency.
Cultural and Racial Literacy

Originária also develops and facilitates spaces for cultural and racial literacy, particularly for immigrants, international residents, and organisations operating in Brazil.
These activities aim to support deeper understanding of Afro-Brazilian history, resistance, ancestrality, and contemporary social realities, helping participants engage with Brazilian culture in informed and respectful ways.

This can include free or paid workshops, talks (palestras), and guided conversations on topics such as racial literacy, Afro-Brazilian spiritual traditions, cultural syncretism, and the historical and social meanings embedded in popular expressions like Carnaval.
The objective is not instruction or policing, but shared learning—building awareness of context, symbolism, and power so that cultural engagement does not unintentionally reproduce harm or erasure.

Corporate ESG Partnerships
Originária provides a ready-made structure for companies that want to deliver social and environmental impact but do not have the time, internal teams, or systems to design and manage programmes themselves.
This includes feasibility work, project design, implementation support, and long-term oversight for social, environmental, and cultural initiatives aligned with ESG objectives. Companies can use Originária as a partner to establish an immediate, credible ESG presence grounded in local context and clear governance.
Fees from corporate engagements are reinvested into Originária’s not-for-profit work. No profits are distributed for private gain.
Ways to Support the Work
Alongside project delivery, Originária is sustained through a mix of internally generated revenue, direct support, and external funding. Revenue generated through Originária’s own projects and partnerships is reinvested directly into its work.
In many cases, Originária also provides direct, non‑recoverable support to projects or individuals where a timely contribution can unlock impact, without expectation of financial return. Donors and partners can additionally support impact through a range of external funding pathways.

Donations and Sponsorship

Companies and international donors can support Originária either by contributing funds that are directed to existing projects where they are most needed, or by working with Originária to support, design, and fund a specific project of shared interest.

Legacy Giving

Originária can work with donors and their advisors to shape legacy projects funded through planned giving or estates, translating personal values into lasting programmes.

Crowdfunding

Originária can coordinate crowdfunding campaigns for specific projects, providing structure, communication, and transparency so supporters understand what their contributions enable.

Ethics, Safeguards and Governance
Originária’s social and environmental projects are intentionally aimed at vulnerable communities and people living in situations of everyday precarity. The platform upholds principles of racial literacy, care, and responsibility, recognising historical inequities and the need for culturally informed, respectful engagement—particularly when working with marginalised communities and Indigenous peoples.

Originária is committed to ethical representation and protection. Anonymity is respected wherever necessary, especially when working with children or individuals in sensitive or vulnerable situations. The organisation avoids exploitative narratives, does not expose faces or personal stories for publicity when inappropriate, and ensures that communities are not instrumentalised for visibility or fundraising. The work is guided by respect, consent, and accountability rather than visibility.

Strong governance is central to Originária’s model. The organisation will maintain an active board and fiscal council (conselho fiscal) that serve as its ethical and strategic compass—providing oversight, guidance, and a clear sense of direction. These bodies ensure transparency, integrity, and long-term alignment with Originária’s values. In certain cases, selected individuals may be compensated for fiscal or governance roles where ongoing technical, compliance, or oversight work is required.
